Oh dear! See the thread below from the WLM International list. It seems to me that we really must have a direct image upload link built in to the WLM template on en.W which works even where we have an image of a building already. Part of the purpose of the competition is to encourage new editors/uploads and we can't have a system that requires specialist Wiki knowledge in every case where there is already an image. We want lots of images of each building!
A question to those who know about bots: how difficult would it be to change the template on en.W, and then run an update script over all the the pages that have been done so far? I'm not sure where it would be best to add the upload link, but it shouldn't be too intrusive as we may get resistance from the community. Is the technology behind the template capable of having, for example, a small '+" button which overlays any existing image and appears in the right hand corner? Or can anyone come up with something better? Regards to all. It's looking good at the moment for the UK's first foray into this competition!
