While agreeing with Harry about meeting the regulars, I would maintain that much of the success of a meetup relies on someone who finds the time to schedule the meetup on a regular basis: Charles in Cambridge; Bazonka in the North-West; Redrose64 in Oxford. Once you've got a steady schedule, then you can look at varying times, days, venues to see if more editors can be attracted. I'll certainly discuss the ideas at the next meetups that I get to.
