Jim. Good point here Jim. Updating (Patching) a program is diffrent from upgrading. When you update an application you are only applying the changes to certain key or minor parts of the licensed application to a minor revision. Upgrading simply means that you purchase the new version of the same product and install it to upgrade the whole application or suite to a Major revision.
Some if not most version numbers format like MM.mm.BBBB MM= Major version number mm=minor version number BBBB= Build (revison number) notes how many changes in generations from the last build (recompliation) For instance my example: Paintshop Pro 5.0 Major version Upgraded to: Paintshop pro 5.03 minor version However some applications or utilities won't allow non-concurrent updates like McAfee VirusScan for instance is such a nutorious one of these. A non-concurrent update is an update that is more than two verions ahead. Concurrent updates are one version higher. I indicated that the original poster would not be able to UPDATE from version 5 to version 6.6 of Nero and would have to purchase the newer version (UPGRADE). I think (hope) we are saying the same thing :) Jim Maki [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Marc Sims Technician I Technology Services Prince George's Community College 301 Largo Rd.
