Just so!

That's just not possible unless you're content with having your email all
look like [EMAIL PROTECTED] [or the ever-trendy @gmail.com] or have a lot of
throwaway [never used] email addresses.

If you get a domain of your own, there'll be a lot of email addresses
that go with it [at the least, 'postmaster@']. There are 'association'
email addresses that by design are not associated with a POP box [e.g.,
@acm.org, @alum.mit.edu, @spunsters.com, @puzzlers.org, @admra.org, etc,
etc]. I have several 'functional' email addresses besides in various
domains [postmaster@, hostmaster@, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I suppose if you want to set up a zillion throwaway pop boxes and then
poll them all, you could get down to 1<->1 emailaddr<->pop box, but that
seems like an awfully awkward mess to set up and administer. [we do that
for one of our customers. Their "actual" pop boxes have names like
comp01, comp02, comp03, comp03...comp45, comp46, ....  and then we have
their *actual* email addresses ([EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], etc)
set to forward to an appropriate compNN box. Seems like an awful lot of
bother and administrative hassle for not much gain. [since as far as I
can tell, the ONLY advantage of all of that hassle is to be spared the
burden of selecting an identity when you 'reply' to a message.]
