Rick,
Having followed you down that path, but with self-installed versions since 2000,

I would advise you to check the scheduler for activities started at midnight,
Also I would advise against installing Ghost 9 - stick to the 2003 version

I have however found that if you leave Norton system Doctor running while you
uninstall, then the latest versions of the uninstall
process do NOT replace your carefully created monitoring profile with the naff
one included in the Symantec distribution

And - do remember NSW/Norton utilities are NOT supported on a multi-dual
boot/OS system - and Recovery Console makes your system
multi/dual boot, and thus NOT supported.

JimB.
