Anyone know what format Dell has the image in the hidden restore partition in and if it also has the exe's needed to run the restore? If so, I'll unhide it and see if I can make it work. (I've wasted enough time on it so I don't really want to play around just for laughs.)
My restore partition won't work and they keep sending windows xp reinstall disks install of a Restore CD. (I need to restore it because the DVD/RW software won't install and I don't want to buy a full version of it but I need windows xp pro installed - without thinking I tried a clean install so I want to restore the disk and upgrade instead.) BTW - their solution now is to send me a new hard disk - for whatever reason they can't send just send a restore cd. <sigh> I just hope the hard disk comes preconfigured or I'll still be PO'd. <g> -- Diane Poremsky [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> CDOLive LLC - Slipstick.com The Microsoft Messaging and Collaboration Application Experts http://www.cdolive.com <http://www.cdolive.com/> - http://www.slipstick.com <http://www.slipstick.com> -- ---------------------------------------- The WIN-HOME list is hosted on a Windows 2000(TM) machine running L-Soft international's LISTSERV(R) software.
