Wayne The key thing being: I also make sure that they have their drivers backed up before I leave even if I have to do it myself
----------- Friday got asked to fix a client's system: Recovery was using their CD based restore - which cleared all existing partitions and made the boot partition use the whole drive. The system had had Ghost on it, and all the backup images had been on the drive until it went phut grind- No they hadn't completed the backup procedure specified and written any of the images to DVD Not those of the OS partition, or those of the application and data partition The original backup's I took and copied out to DVD's had been misplaced (not lost, they just couldn't find them) Connection to the web was only available via their head office system (virus's you know) web connect, and userid - a 5 weekday wait. No - head office support do not provide support for connected sites, just the central office staff So, in 3 days I can go back and finish the install, register and activate the software, then take a backup of the system at setup time. And - perhaps the users will now do the backups to DVD, unless the loss of all their emails and other work wasn't enough of an awakener -------------- So - I hope you take a copy of that drivers backup with you when you go! -------------- Me - more time to be billed soon - perhaps it's better if the Client staff never learn!
