I have a friend that is running XP home with SP2. A few days ago he found
he was unable to gain web access through Earthlink. He was using Firefox
as the browser rather than I. E. I discovered that the Norton firewall was
blocking access to the web for Firefox and Mozilla. I reinstalled Norton
Internet Security as well as Mozilla and the problem went away (seemingly).
Today he says that Norton is objecting to his deleting and reinstalling
Internet Security and, when he updated the program, the firewall resumed
blocking Firefox and Mozilla.
I wonder if anyone can recall a similar problem and what you did to relieve
it.
