FWIW, I don't have a Multimedia entry either, on either of 2 machines, both running Win XP Pro installed by me from a full installation disk (not upgrade) after reformatting (NTFS). In the Subcomponents of Accessories box I have listed:
Calculator Character Map Clipboard Viewer Document Templates Mouse Pointers Paint all with check marks beside them and nothing else in the box, other than the disk space used (I assume that is what it is). HOWEVER, I DO have a volume control. Mine is located at START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>ENTERTAINMENT>VOLUME CONTROL. This is on both machines. The actual controls are a bit different between the 2 machines, but I suspect that is probably due to the mother boards/sound cards on the Dell Optiplex and the K7S5A based machine. - Bill Hatcher [EMAIL PROTECTED] - -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Jim Dykes Sent: Sunday, June 26, 2005 12:02 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [WINHOME] Dragon NaturallySpeaking When I opened the message, I found that Wayne Johnson had written: > Go to Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs > > Click the "Add/Remove Windows Components" on the left hand side. > > Make sure there is a check mark in front of "Accessories and Utilities" > > Now click the "Details..." button in the lower right hand corner. So far so good!! > Now click on "Multimedia" & the "Details..." button again. This is where the trail ends! There isn't any "Multimedia"... -- ---------------------------------------- WIN-HOME Archives: http://PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM/archives/WIN-HOME.html Contact the List Owner about problems: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unofficial Win-Home List Members Profiles Page http://winhome.wavijo.com/
