OK, I give: I discovered that in safe mode, you have a /PRO style explorer display and so it is fairly easy to tweak the access permissions on things. But I've run into a bunch of problems:
1) Where's the group management stuff? I can't seem to set up groups or assign them to user accts... 2) Where's the policy management stuff? Right now, it won't let my limited acct access the network: there's a policy about requiring a password for that. I'd like to disable that, but I can't find a hint of the policy-ness. 3) Can you change the owner of a file? I have a whole filesystem for "me" [and one for my wife] and I wanted to change the owner of the file systems to me and her... but apparently I cannot... Very annoying!! [as a side note, you were correct: my "administrator" account did *NOT* have a password.. it does now... :o) [as a second side note: boy is it HARD to get into safe mode. It looks like you have like a 1/10 second or something to hit F8: hitting it *constantly* as I was booting up, it took me three tries to actually get into safe mode]. /Bernie\ -- Bernie Cosell Fantasy Farm Fibers mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Pearisburg, VA --> Too many people, too few sheep <-- -- ---------------------------------------- To Change your email Address for this list, send the following message: CHANGE WIN-HOME your_old_address your_new_address to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Note carefully that both old and new addresses are required.
