Yep - shame about the NU Speedisk bits:
Disk walk to let you find out what files were unmoveable - so you could fix
the appropriate application
Directory sort
Directory re-org and reposition in a block at the beginning of the drive

Interesting that Symantec say it is not possible for defrag to reposition
directories on the boot drive ( partition) as they are in use by the system.
However the old versions used to do it
Partition Magic can do it
Other suppliers defrag's can do it

There does not appear to be an option to just move highly fragmented files
to the end of the drive,
or to make freespace into one contiguous lump

And - you cannot even manipulate the file use statistical information on
file usage
 - frequency and last used in order to adjust what should be repositioned
where

And - more annoying - you cannot 'officially' retain your specialisation
over an upgrade, or re-install

Then even more annoying - trying to get Symantec 'support' to actually give
a proper answer/solution to a question/problem
I tend to interpret persistent uninstall and re-install responses as
meaning:
We've got your money, stop bothering us!
Uninstall, and install someone else's product.

Latest Symantecisation -
following an automatic boot-time liveupdate
a client's system was left to run with neither AV or Worm protection,
Investigation showed the facility reporting
'Licence expired'
( they have 3 months left of the 1 year System works 2005 licence)
The update process had turned off both AV, and Worm protection
Using 'options' to unset, and reset the AV and Worm protection
and running liveupdate again (8Mb + 1.5Mb + download) got the AV back -
but it was a re-install to restore the Worm protection.
(Reinstall of the base CD and then lots of half/un protected access to get
the facility updated to the current fix level)

Anybody know if/how
I can download the current fix level version of Systemworks, and use that
for future re-installs ?
