No reason this shouldn't work as I've done it several times. A point to
consider tho is usually you want your wireless stuff as high as possible.
I have not needed to research this, yet, but my guess is the motherboard
manufacturers will start (if not already) adding wireless to their wired
onboard LAN connection the same as the wireless routers have.
I like the idea of placing the router and modem where you want them (the
best location for technical reasons) with no regard to where the computers
are placed (although usually a computer is in the same location.) Then place
your computers where you want them and if one or more has to have a wireless
NIC added, add it.
Are you saying that if my customers live in a multi story home, have the
router and modem downstairs?
