When I opened the message, I found that Richard Glazier had written: > impatience?

Then after I sent it, I hit "shut down" and it poped up immediately. > If it is "more" than a few seconds, you might want to ignore > the above and see below... <grin> I guess it is just some "processes" that are sauntering along and taking their time. I do now live in the "land of manana", you know. No one knows what "time" means down here. > If you want to try some "tweaks" there are settings to force > things closed after a certain time if they are not doing it themselves. > Disclaimer: Forcing things closed can (or might) lead to data loss of some > type... > > MS has a small utility you can run to "un-load" & log CERTAIN > types of this problem. > Note it sends you to the Event Viewer to look for the errors it > can help with... > Link works (today) and needs to be "all on one line" if copied and pasted. > > http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1B286E6D-8912-4E18-B570 > -42470E2F3 582&displaylang=en > If you try it, you are on your own... <grin> That sounds like a package marked "open at your own risk" <smile>. Can you direct me to a site where one can view all the "processes" that are loaded? I mean if "jimd.exe" is loaded, what loaded it?? Thanks. Anyway, down here in NM, nothing has to be done "this year" anyway, so I'll just kick back, relax and wait <smile>.
