Under Device manager, open Properties for modem, click on Disable in this
hardware profile, then reboot. The wizard should find it and reinstall it
and its drivers.

On the PCI card for the modem is an input for your telephone line and an
input for an external phone(analog). Plug your phone into the phone input
and see if you get dialtone.

Yes.

No. Does uninstalling the modem require that it be phisically removed?

Don't know where the drivers are for reinstalling -- on a CD distributed by
Gateway?

>Is it passing the dialtone through on the card??
