Or if you can't use your isp, find a mailhosting service that offers 
authenticated SMTP, preferably over ssl/tls.  That way you can 
send email regardless of which ISP you are currently connected 
on.

That's one of the ways I handle it myself.  However, for me 
that's the last option I use. I have my own mailserver that I vpn 
into which completely bypasses the whole issue.
