I managed to get to the system with Norton SystemWorks 2006 installed this morning.
No more complaints about the change of IE6 startup page from blank to Google and it happily shows the Google search page on startup. I've changed it back to blank ( Tools Options) Got the NAV - Home Page Protection alert again Selected the Third option - Change to:...... Then later, got a winpatrol whinge about the change As before, I anticipate a (possibly dual) complaint again when it's next rebooted Only perhaps unusual settings: 1) it's on W2K Pro 2) doesn't check outgoing emails for virus's or worms JimB -- Original Message ----- From: "Pete Holsberg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 17, 2006 6:27 PM Subject: Re: Norton AntiVirus Problem > James Button wrote: > > Perhaps > > Norton Protection Centre > > Web browsing protection Auto Protect may need to be turned off before you > > change IE > > then turned back on > > That does not affect Home Page Protection. > > Any other thoughts? > > -- > Pete Holsberg > Columbus, NJ > > Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. > > -- > ---------------------------------------- > The WIN-HOME mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned > LISTSERV(R) list management software.
