Actually LISTSERV will have a problem with this. Sender is not normally
present in personal email. It is typically present in email sent through
another mechanism (e.g. a LISTSERV list or in this case by Gmail). When
both Sender: and From: are present in an email coming to LISTSERV, LISTSERV
will give preference to the Sender: field. So unless that Sender: address
was also subscribed to the list, LISTSERV would reject the email for that
list. (This happened to Pranav already, so I had added his gmail address to
the list so his email would not be rejected.) When the message is posted to
the list, LISTSERV will use the Sender: field as the From: instead of the
original From: address.
As to the "on behalf of ..." thing that Outlook does, that is strictly a
visual display thing. No email headers are actually changed.
