Perhaps the "-E" version doesn't have any of those funky low-quality
capacitors that were around a couple of years ago.

I'd take the -E version board in a heartbeat.

Presently fighting a running gun battle with EPOX to fix a bad MB as we
speak. If they don't come thru today I will forever be off their products.
