There's all sorts of places where you can get the cable and software kit for this phone. However, just now a sales rep at a Verizon store told me that it had been discontinued.........However, the manager of the store had just pulled one (and the kit) for me......just then......at the request of a Data Tech Supv at Verizon. Sales reps...............sheez.....to think I made a living at it for so many years. Back then, though, one of the requirements for being a salesman was to be a little ahead of the average bear....and you couldn't be "stoopid"!! > I looked thru the "phonescoop" site & it lists my phone & all of its > features. It looks like it uses the same data pacaket as the 8100. There > wasn't any data cables in the box whey I bought this phone. Not they aren't the same at all. You misread I thought and I think what it said at Phonescoop. I think Wayne thought that also because he said that neither of them would work. The 6100 uses the 1XRTT packet. The 8100 something entirely different........... Packet Data Technology: 1xEV-DO r0 The Data Tech Supv told me that the CAST technology caused the 8100 to not be able to connect to the internet like the old dial-up 1XRTT. It connects to the High Speed Broadband Net. I did have a suspicion that the 8100 just might do the same as the 6100, but Verizon was not leveling with the public because they want to sell you their broadband service. On the other hand, there are "cracks"out there what will allow the 8100 to do it, so if that's the case, I guess one should figure that it won't do it without going to some trouble and voiding one's warranty. So..................we'll see about that 6100. I don't really need the music. I do like the Bluetooth capabilities, though, although I wouldin't use it that much I don't guess.
