When I opened the message, I found that Carl Houseman had written:

I have come to that conclusion.
However, since most of the programs were already on my laptop when it
came from Dell, it isn't exactly clear which CDs are for what.
"One says Drivers, Utilities and Applications"
"For Reinstalling Dell (tm) Inspiron(tm) 1100 and 5100 System
Software"
"The software is already installed on your conputer. Us this CD to
reinstall the software".
Now, my question is: If I format the HD, the software won't "already"
be on my system <smile>.
It doesn't say anything about the OS.
How should I proceed?
