Ah! -

Combining the details you supplied:

There's basic problem

The original system was ME, so -- the cCD labelled
" Drivers, Utilities and Applications"
will contain drivers to allow the hardware to be used/accessed/controlled by
the Windows ME OS
(as supplied with, or on the system)

You are now trying to put a different OS onto the system - so you need
different drivers.
You need to determine what hardware is in the system, and download
appropriate drivers fro that hardware to be controlled by Win2K

( I upgraded a Tosh from Me to 2K, but luckily kept it as dual boot -
W2K wouldn't use the CD or built-in modem, despite happily using that modem
to contact MS to register during the install process.

As the system was dual boot - 2 OS partitions and a common data partition I
managed to get the extra's needed using the Me system, and finally got w2K
to run, except for that modem - no W2K drivers available for it

I ended up getting a USB connect modem for the system, having downloaded all
(I thought) the fixes and drivers etc and putting them on a CD)

So - is it time to start collecting drivers?

And - is it worth putting 2K on it, considering the limited support life of
W2K
