AOL actually allows you to use an email program other than their own proprietary one now? That's at least a step in the right direction for them.


Is that POP (Post Office Protocol) email in Outlook Express? If so then all AOL needs to do is allow dial-up access via the Windows dialer and not require subscribers to install their software. Then they would be a decent ISP.

Seriously, I do need to know this (if AOL mail can be accessed via Outlook Express) since I have up until now recommended that people who are weaning themselves off of AOL access their AOL mail via Internet Explorer. I realize that once they get a format and reinstall job, they want a smooth transition to their new ISP and not have to reinstall the AOL software.
