Like AOL's recent layoffs of over 1300 staff from its dialup support division
a move that AOL says to promote more dailup users to go broadband.
Go figure.

They have fixed costs whether they have low speed or high speed customers...
but they do make more profit if they can get all the lower speed people to
upgrade.
