http://www.whatismyip.com/

Same service as checkip.dyndns.org, I believe.

You'll get the same IP number. On your side of the router, they have their own Local IP, but to the Internet they look like one IP.

If you telnet or ftp to that IP address, what physical device responds? The router? The modem? Not a PC?
