I got a Cooler Master Blue ICE Chipset Cooler with LED Fan from
Tiger Direct and installed it, but had to remove the MB to get at the pins for the old fan heatsink. I removed the card(s) and cleaned all the contacts with
an eraser and contact cleaner and re-inserted them in the same slots.
Will try changing slots. It is Sp2 with all win updates

Thanks Joe Harrison

independent card. Find another computer and search "drivers.com" for
appropriate driver software for the card.

He may even want to insert the card(s) into different slots to force XP to see it again. Many drivers require the Sp2 be installed first & there are newer USB drivers in Sp2. IIRC a Gigabyte disk told me once that if I wanted USB 2.0 I had to install Sp2 as their disk only had drivers for USB 1.1.
