XP Pro vs Home has *nothing* to do with QoS.

I would think the fact that Home does NOT have ASR [automatic
system recovery] would be much more relevant. How is the data
being backed up if files are NOT being shared? I would think
that if there is enough free space one could backup their data
to another system on the network & vice a versa then burn it
to a CD or DVD or copied to an removable external drive.

They generally do not backup their files. We talked about it and decided that each person having an external drive would be the best way for them. Having an external drive would allow a script to create and write the backup during the night.

Of course, a real IT person would be teaching them and encouraging them to make backups, but I think they cannot get a real IT person for the money they are paying.

It's always best to describe the problem if one exists then
state the ALL the facts that are pertinent in the 1st post. If
one does not know whether a fact is pertinent or not then say
so but list all the details anyway don't make the quorum guess
at the facts or have to ask you for more details. At one time
years ago it was suggested that peeps put their system
description in their signature file.

Well, it's not my system that's under discussion here.
