If it updated automatically he wouldn't still be using 7.05. I've seen it prompt to update but not known it to update without permission.
Still prefer uninstall-old / install-new approach. May not be necessary but old habits learned the hard way die hard. When I log in on the PC (remotely) I can open my Outlook profile, send myself a PDF as an attachment and they open fine. Anyone have suggestions before I rename the client's user profile and force XP SP2 to create a new one to confirm the old registry is the culprit?
