If it updated automatically he wouldn't still be using 7.05. I've seen it
prompt to update but not known it to update without permission.

Still prefer uninstall-old / install-new approach. May not be necessary
but old habits learned the hard way die hard.

Hi all,

I thought Acrobat reader was supposed to update automatically?

Uninstall 7.05 and install 7.08. It will probably fix the broken file
association.

My universal answer for all problems PDF today.

Subject: Outlook and PDF attachments

Outlook 2003 SP2, XP Pro SP2

Although able to open PDFs when Reader 7.05 is running or when the files
are double clicked in My Computer, etc, from within Outlook the
attachments will not open for single user. When I log in on the PC
(remotely) I can open my Outlook profile, send myself a PDF as an
attachment and they open fine.

Anyone have suggestions before I rename the client's user profile and
force XP SP2 to create a new one to confirm the old registry is the
culprit? Everything else about Office is fine, at least apparently fine.

Thanks.

David
