That's another great principle.  I also use this paraphrase:

Just because you HAVE a thing doesn't mean you MUST use a thing. 

And my all time favorite expression of the same theme:

Patient: Doctor, doctor, it hurts when I do this!
Doctor: Don't do that!

IOW just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be done. 
Folders are much easier to work with than partitions.
