When I opened the message, I found that Carl Houseman had written:

Correct me if I am wrong, I often am, but if one has a 200GB HD 
partitioned into 4 partitions, called, say F, G, H, I, and it isn't ever 
planned to be a boot drive, could not one use the "F Drive" for all 
photos of weddings, "G Drive" for all vacations, etc, etc??

I'd probably just stick it in and have ONE Partition, actually, but for my 
wife I might just use it as stated above.  Or can I "not" do that?

If it is just going to be a storage device, the only reason to format it to 
start with would be for management, no?
