I am still working on the problem. The Quick n easy FTP Server website
provides a procedure for testing. I have performed the tests and have
some new data that might help.
First, they say to start an FTP client on the same computer the server
is running on, and use 127.0.0.1 as the URL of the server. I did this
and was able to connect and do a file transfer.
Next, they said to use another computer on the same network and use the
internal URL of the Server computer, 192.168.0.10. I tried that and it
worked in Active Mode only.
I still get the same response when I try from outside our LAN, "Could
not send reply, disconnected." This tells me that I am still missing
something on the SonicWall settings. Would you agree?
I have made 2 Firewall rules for FTP.
Rule 1 = Source - Any Address Range - Any
Destination - LAN Address Range - 192.168.0.10
Rule 2 = Source - LAN Address Range - 192.168.0.10
Destination - WAN Address Range - any
The Sonic Wall log shows the following : FTP: PASV response bounce
attack dropped."
This was produced when I was trying to connect from an external network.
Any help appreciated
