Not *on* (although power has to on, obviously), but
*connected*. If the DSL connection type is PPoE (or PPoA), the
connection may be disconnected due to inactivity. Then the
router has to reconnect whenever activity occurs. There is an
option to keep the connection "alive" at all times. I hope I am
making sense, since PPoE/A connections act like regular modem
connections. :)
If there are other computers which connect through the router
can they get to the 'net when this problem occurs?
The next time the DSL connection does not work, try to connect
to the router, and look at it's status page and also at any
logs it creates.
BTW what router (brand/model/version)?
