Congrats from the "wet coast", although it's like summer today ;-) and

All you need are the splitter, one end goes to the dsl modem the other end 
goes to a microfilter and another splitter for all your other gear.

Try my suggestion above, I've set it up this way for dozens of clients.

It's called a Pots Splitter and is what was used before they had filters 
available, back in the early days. I remember as I was like the 20th person 
in BC to get adsl when Telus first rolled it out many years ago.

Yes, if you know what you are doing, also if you live in a house it's likely 
quite simple, if you live in a building with an Enterphone system, it's a bit 
more complicated as the pots splitter will need to be installed in the 
building telephone wiring closet.
