I get that message when I forget to compress the folders for awhile, or delete
lots of stuff...
(I recently got rid of 37,000 old messages and various mail folders...)
It is only supposed to free disk space, NOT get rid of any of your messages...
(It is either "broken" or something else happened by accident.)

Every time I close out Outlook Express I receive a message "To free up disk space Outlook Express can >compact messages. This may
take up to a few minutes. Yes/No The last time I clicked Yes, I lost all of the >messages that I had saved in various folders.
Would anyone know how to turn this option off? Thanks!
