I just searched the archives and nobody appears to have mentioned gparted
here in the last 6 months.

It gets recommended a lot on some other lists I frequent. I keep meaning to
give it a try but meanwhile I've been using BootItNG's maintenance mode (not
installed) for all of my partition maintenance requirements.

Subject: Free alternative to Partition Magic, etc

Anyone tried out this free partition manager? Seems too good to
be true. :) I think I will try it on a scratch/spare system
before going "live" with it. :D

Partition Logic is a free hard disk partitioning and data
management tool. It can create, delete, format, defragment,
resize, and move partitions and modify their attributes. It can
copy entire hard disks from one to another.

Partition Logic is free software, based on the Visopsys
operating system. It boots from a CD or floppy disk and runs as
a standalone system, independent of your regular operating
system. It is intended to become a free alternative to such
commercial programs as Partition Magic, Drive Image, and Norton
Ghost...
