Few newbies would realise that there was a command line ! Indeed how
many Wins users realise that there is a command console available to
them ?
I regularly sit users down in front of a Linux box ! You would be
surprised how long it takes them to cotton on that it isn't Wins. They
do ask if they can have various bits of software to go on their
machine ! The cross platform stuff is no problem ! When I point out
that it is not Wins that they are using, I almost always get asked if
they can have Linux on their machine. Most times they can. There are
a fair number of machines that wont run linux without some jiggery
pokery ! Unfortunately there are some that just won't !
