We're talking chalk and cheese here !  Installing codecs is very much 
handled by package management and gui based at that !  Few users would 
have reason or need to use command line tools nowadays.

Qparted is primarily a command line tool that an experienced user would 
need/use to do serious maintenance, even so it does have a pretty 
face !  I would guess that a newcomer probably wouldn't know such a 
tool even existed !  Let alone what it would be used for !
