I have the final Vista RC2 build 5744 of which I DL'd of the MSDN
sub site and from what I've been playing with it looks good so far except
for some driver and software issues for my ATI 9600 AIW, HP PhotoSmart 8050
printer and HP Scanjet 4890 scanner.
Finding drivers for a not-yet-but soon-to-be released product is very
fustrating indeed and I find it to be the most comon gripe among all users no
matter what hardware that they may have. So the OEM's had better get on the
ball pronto.
I can understand that OEM's need to test their hardware drivers throughly but
do it on a customer-needed basis. Like for instance I need a HP and ATI drivers
for hardware to test with Vista RC2 Build 5744 so they should release the
drivers once a new build gets released so the beta testers can test it. That's
a customer-needed basis. How else can Microsoft let Beta testers test Vista
when there aren't any new
Vista hardware drivers for their hardware to test it with?
So I search HP and ATI and what do I come up with? Nada! No drivers! This is
driving me crazy! How can Microsoft expect my hardware to work with Vista if I
can't get the drivers to test it with? Go figure.
So I still can't find drivers for them but hopefully HP and some other
manufacturer's
should release their drivers by January or soon after that after the RTM has
been declared i Hope. If anyone should happen find Vista drivers before then
for ATI 9600 AIW, HP photosmart 8050 and scanjet 4890 let me know asap thanks.
P.S. Deperately searching for drivers.

Beta testers received Vista's final test build more than one month
ago. It is complete except for ironing out a few remaining bugs.
I fully expect RTM to be declared in a few days. The reason for the
delay of the consumer release to January is to give the OEM builders
(Dell, HP, etc) time to make sure their hardware is fully compatible.

I'am willing to give Vista a lot of time to evolve. Its still very much an
infant
that's yet to start growing once it RTM's in January 2007. Its true in some
cases that
new software only improves over time just like wine although some it may not
as good as other brands but overtime it improves.
