I'am willing to give Vista a lot of time to evolve. Its still very much an
infant
that's yet to start growing once it RTM's in January 2007. Its true in some
cases that
new software only improves over time just like wine although some it may not
as good as other brands but overtime it improves.

As for the Vista hardware system ratings they are only arbitary and I don't
think that
they reflect the actual performance of any PC accurately. Who's to say a P-IV's
Vista 1 rating is better than an AMD's Athlon XP 1 rating? Or any comparable
dual-core AMD or dual-core Intel cpu vista rating of the same rating for that
matter?

But Oh!, contraire! There is only one thing that vista can do that XP can't do:

Transparent Windows in 3D. XP can't do that at all. Provided you have the
right high powered video card to do it with in Vista. BTW not even MAC OS X can
do that ether. ;)

Why upgrade at all ? What can Vista do that I can't do in XP ? I
don't need MSFT telling me what features to run or not to run. I
never run any of MSFTs disk cleanup apps either. I wonder how many
people are going to start comparing Vista Ratings. Mine is higher
than yours, so there. :-P

Heck if I hadn't already upgraded my machines to XP I could've
probably stuck with 98se in most cases.
