Similar to the xplorer² app, an Explorer replacement for XP, I've been
using for sometime. Each subfolder displayed within '\' is clickable to
change the view. Better than even TC in my opinion. YMMV.
Do you mean any folder in the path which would
allow branching from anywhere along that path as
in the new Windows Explorer ? I'm glad that makes
you happy but I'd rather jump straight to the
folder that I want via TC's Directory menu since
actually only a few folders get used all the time.

You can add favorites in xplorer², too. Along with having a complete folder
history in the address bar, similar to the URL history in IE, and
right-clicking in the title bar of each window to show the complete folder
history of that window since starting the app, too.
Many more features, too many to go into here. I tried a few different
explorer replacements and I found this one to be the best of the bunch. I
also tried TC and didn't really like it. But as I said YMMV.
My point in relation to the topic is that MS obviously culled some of the
best ideas for what features an Explorer window should have, but obviously
not all.
