That's why I suggested dbextract - as it will/should pull messages from the
dbx file as separate files
so letting you see if it also thought there was one, or more messages there.

The repair option suggestion was to see if OE is leaving the file/folder in
a state where a repair program will make it report the correct values again.

Additional thoughts - it could be that OE is recording message counts
somewhere else - perhaps in your profile, internet temp area or the registry
