I have done that and it works! In fact, the scanner is my main reason to
install win4lin in the first place! First my specs: kernel 2.2.12 and
Win98; scanner is a Mustek ScanExpress 12000P.
I have been checking SANE regularly (www.mostang.com/sane) - that's the
Linux improved equivalent of Twain - but most pp scanners are not
supported because of lack of specs.
Running winsetup as root ran fine. I added a parallel port interface and
then I used it as a normal user. That was it. You'll have to wait some
hours until I can say some more specs on this, as this machine doesn't
have win4lin. But the scanner worked and the printer too, under win4lin,
and then the printer worked under linux again... it was great!
