The latest edition of "PC Actual", (No.129, Abril 2001) a leading Spanish computer magazine, has a comparative review of Win4Lin and VMWare. It will come as no surprise to anyone on this list that Win4Lin came out on top, although not by much and mainly as a result of its more realistic pricing. Testing with Mandrake 7.2 as host and Win98 as guest, they found that VMWare was faster running Word 2000 but slower with Powerpoint 2000 (there was other software tested too). The results are very interesting. If there is enough interest, I'll put my linguistic skills to the test and post a precis of their reports.
