It's all done by proxies.  Win4Lin's installer relies on FTP.  I have to
give FTP the "gate" command before it will work.  With the Win4Lin 2
scripts, it was an easy patch.  Bith the new binary, not so easy!

Anyway, as I type, I'm part way through downloading, by going back to my
2.2.18 stock kernel, which has PPP enabled, and an old analogue modem
plugged in locally to the machine in question.  A bidge, but it's
working (at the moment), although much slower than my normal RDSI
connection.
