Hi Mike
My system is as follows
Win98se
Kernel 2.4.4
I connect to the Internet via VNET and an E-Smith box
The slowness seems to correllate with the hard drive thrashing, if you wait
for the hard drive things seem faster, or the clicking of an icon causes the
hard drive to thrash and when it's finished thrashing the control / speed is
back. The hard drive is a 17GB with ample room for Linux and Win4Lin. The
hard drive has been set with hdparm for i/o 32 bit and dma.
Ram 128MB system with 64MB Win4Lin.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need more info.
