This most likely points to the VM problems in the 2.4 kernel. 7.0 was a
2.2 kernel if I recall correctly. The 2.2 kernel series did not have
the VM issues. I believe they have addressed these issues in the
2.4.6-pre3 kernel. My understanding is that they will not release
Win4Lin kernel patches for this kernel version until a few eeks after
2.4.6 is officially released.
