What apps are you trying?  That can make all the difference in 
the world....8-)

Our standard regression test are the examples from the DirectX
SDK.  When in doubt, try those first.

Definitely.  Do a -debugmsg +ddraw trace, but don't send anything 
too long to wine-devel for courtesy's sake.  If you have a big
trace, send it to us directly.

My laptop is S3 Savage based, and I'm running it with the latest
CVS of utah-glx and XFree 3.3.6.  It's slow for 3D though, since the 
utah-glx drivers don't support sending triangle strips or fans 
directly to the hardware.  And I haven't been able to get direct
rendering working with it.
