I agree, all items of discussion should be on one
forum since our lives and livelihoods are so connected...local, state,
federal.

Krage/drug problems
It does seem odd, given the subject line above, that providing
contextual/ancillary information would cause a thread to be moved from one
area to the other. Does Dean's mentioning of the original post and
Winona City Council-specific subject matter therefore merit a reverse switch?
(I've said "Winona," so perhaps now the thread, being sufficiently
non-national, will move back.)
Regarding the need for and utility of
multiple lists, I tend to agree with Dean on this matter as well. (Or perhaps
he agrees with me. Whatever the case, I trust the irony of the situation is
not lost on him or any number of other readers familiar with some of our past
conversations.) Multiple/separate lists seem to exist, particularly in
organizations as small and compact as this one (or other local groups one
might care to name), only to put information somewhere other than where it
would most readily be seen by all.

I have been a little lax in reading
through all my WOD posts so I may be too late with this but I don't agree
that this is strictly a national issue. Since the discussion began with
a comment in response to the vile words, (i.e. scumbag, dirtbags, etc.) of a
city council member, it seems that it is ripe for the local forum.
However, I also thinks that this points out once again the folly of
trying to separate the two and I will raise my voice crying in the
wilderness one more time and respectfully suggest that we do away with the
two forum idea, and allow all discussion on topics of interest on this
forum.
