[Winona Online Democracy]

Hi,
Great news for Winona Online Democracy!
Winona, Minnesota will be mentioned on a national broadcast this week.
National Public Radio is running a weeklong feature called "Whose Democracy
Is It?"
Their website says, "America is proud of its democratic values:
accountable leaders, honest voting and a free press. But recently Americans
have begun to ask Whose Democracy Is It? Join the debate with a week of
special coverage on public radio stations and the Web."
Minnesota Public Radio produced several segments in the national series.
MPR reporter Erin Gabally was in Winona last month to interview Kathy
Seifert and me (as Winona Online Democracy list co-managers) and Terri Hyle
( as a WOD member) for her article titled "Cyber Democracy." If you check
the MPR website, you will see Terri's picture and the corresponding article.

"Cyber Democracy" will air during the NPR program "All Things
Considered" this Friday, November 7, 2003. Erin says it is about a 6 minute
segment, and she calls Winona Online Democracy "one of the most successful
online community forums in the country."
