[Winona Online Democracy]

What attracted me to WOD was its potential as a local government forum. Being
able to influence national govenment policy with our discussions seemed to be
much less likely. However, it's now my understanding that spending weekday
mornings at Shorty's Bar and Grill or Saturdays drinking at the VFW will
provide one with more access to City Hall's decision making process than
WOD is likely to.

So, if people like to spend time pontificating on global issues rather local
ones, I don't think it really makes much difference.
