[Winona Online Democracy] Tomorrow's joint meeting and work session between the City of Winona, the Wilson Town Board, and the County Board to discuss the proposed annexation and development of the Phillips/Heise property in Wilson will be broadcast live on HBC.
Eric Sorensen made that and another request today, Tuesday. It's not 100% certain if it can be arranged on short notice but a strong attempt will be made. It should be an interesting meeting. I think most, if not all of the Wilson Town Board and County Board will be there. I'm not sure how many City Council members will come. Some interesting topics may be discussed; including economics, the environment, taxes, farm land, traffic, growth, annexation, long range planning, and other development related issues. A meeting like this has not happened in a long time, it holds much potential. If the local elected bodies can work together to solve issues that affect all of us, good things can happen. The meeting is open and the public is welcome to attend but there will not be a public comment period. The meeting is at 4:00 p.m. in the County Government Center, Board Room, 2nd floor. (It's the old Norwest Building, kitty corner from Winona National Bank). If you can not attend the meeting, consider watching it on t.v. or video taping it. Please pass the word on to others who might be interested in the topic. After the meeting, I would be interested in hearing feedback and suggestions from those who watched.
